The client is seeking a Director of Research Integrity to oversee policies, systems, and procedures for detecting, investigating, and preventing research misconduct and ethical breaches across journals, conference proceedings, magazines, and the client’s Digital Library. The Director will also act as the primary liaison with internal publication stakeholders, including editorial leadership, editors, reviewers, authors, and ethics-related committees, supporting publication ethics, AI transparency, and emerging research integrity challenges.
The Director will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of research integrity and publication ethics policies covering topics such as plagiarism, image manipulation, data falsification, authorship practices, and conflicts of interest. Additional responsibilities include designing and delivering training for editors, reviewers, and conference organizers on research integrity and case management best practices, as well as supporting conference organizers with ethics and plagiarism matters arising from conference submissions. The Director will represent the client at international meetings to share practices and support alignment with global standards, develop educational materials for authors and volunteers (including responsible AI use in research and publishing), keep current on developments in research integrity and the potential use of software screening tools, and manage the integrity case tracking system to ensure timely reporting and documentation.
