Description

The School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing (BEC) is seeking a Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange to lead and enhance the research landscape of the School. Reporting to the Dean of the School, the successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy that drives impactful research and knowledge transfer across diverse subjects. The ideal candidate will be an existing Professor with a strong academic track record and experience in securing external research funding.

The Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange will be responsible for leading initiatives that support a thriving research culture, developing and implementing the School's objectives for assessments such as REF, KEF, and HEIF, and fostering cross-school collaboration. They will create an inspiring research environment that empowers academic staff, enhances research and knowledge exchange income, and establishes impactful partnerships. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in academic planning, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with regulations while promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the research environment.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to promoting equality and diversity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to develop and implement strategy effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the research landscape of the School of BEC at Leeds Beckett University.
