The client is seeking a Director of Recruiting to lead and direct the recruitment of qualified Career, Short-Term, and Volunteer staff to meet global personnel needs. Reporting to the VP of Operations & Recruiting, the role focuses on finding and supporting missionary candidates for service overseas, including participation in a long-term mentoring program for individuals considering missionary work in developing nations.
This home-office based role will be expected to travel within Canada to colleges and churches, and to support international vision trips to developing nations in Africa and beyond. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive recruiting strategy, using multiple recruiting channels, conducting interviews and assessments, advising candidates through the application and selection process, supporting onboarding in collaboration with HR, and continuously improving recruitment effectiveness by staying current on industry trends and best practices.
The Director of Recruiting will also engage in strategic partnerships by communicating the client’s mission and vision, collaborating with stakeholders to understand mission field needs, and building relationships with relevant faith-based institutions and organizations to expand the candidate pool. The role calls for strong relational and cross-cultural skills, accountability and organization, and excellent communication; qualifications may include a bachelor’s degree (with theological or biblical studies preferred), proven recruiting experience (preferably in a nonprofit or mission-focused environment), knowledge of the global missions landscape, proficiency with business productivity and cloud-based tools, and previous overseas mission experience (preferred).
