Description

Lead the quality function for North America in a high-visibility role with engagement across regional and global leadership. The Director of Quality will manage a quality organization that includes direct reports and specialized quality roles covering quality management, supplier quality, auditing, customer engineering, quality systems, and core quality processes such as APQP and PPAP. The role will ensure facilities meet organizational quality standards and customer needs, leveraging existing internal knowledge while driving continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.

Ensure employees understand customer expectations for product quality and service, and act as an internal advocate for customer requirements and expectations. Maintain compliance with quality management system requirements aligned to ISO 9001 and IATF standards through proper implementation across the organization, promoting a process-driven approach across functions. Oversee the quality management system documentation, support structured problem-solving and waste reduction initiatives, encourage adoption of best practices across facilities, and drive a culture of continuous improvement and learning through training and knowledge sharing.

Partner cross-functionally with supply chain, purchasing, and plant leadership to deliver positive outcomes, lead internal and external audits, and address gaps with appropriate corrective actions. Recommend and coordinate quality-related training and evaluate effectiveness, establish systems to track quality events including nonconformances and corrective/preventive actions, and define and monitor key performance indicators to assess QMS effectiveness. Manage customer quality concerns and complaints to ensure timely resolution, oversee product certification and customer sample submissions, coordinate customer and certification-body visits, and ensure processes fulfill stated and implied customer quality requirements.
