Description

The client is seeking a senior Development leader to direct individual giving efforts, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, donor stewardship, and tax credit giving initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director will develop and execute strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, including those contributing through donor-advised funds and family foundations. This is a hands-on role combining strategic leadership with frontline fundraising and donor relationship management.

Key responsibilities include leading multi-channel fundraising campaigns and optimizing results, managing and expanding leadership giving through targeted cultivation, recognition, and stewardship, and building major gift pipelines by preparing proposals, donor strategies, and stewardship plans in partnership with organizational leadership. The Director will also support growth of participation in the EITC/tax credit program through donor outreach, education, relationship management, and targeted marketing, and advance the planned giving program by promoting legacy giving opportunities and educating donors on charitable gift vehicles. The role includes developing donor stewardship and communications strategies, serving as a primary writer for fundraising communications and reports, and collaborating with development, marketing, communications, and organizational leadership to support planning and budgeting and represent the client with donors and community partners.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, relationship builder, and project manager with proven experience developing fundraising strategies and executing individual giving initiatives across annual giving, major gifts, and planned giving. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and 5 to 8+ years of progressive fundraising experience, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong relationship-building and organizational abilities, and experience managing multiple priorities. Experience with donor databases is expected, and the Director must be able to fulfill essential functions in compliance with applicable requirements, including required background clearances, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and meeting minimum age requirements.
