The client is seeking a Director, Philanthropic Giving–Southeast to help expand major-gift fundraising efforts across the Southeast, with an emphasis on South Florida. The client’s mission is to protect, support, and empower America’s athletes, and the role is central to building a durable base of philanthropic supporters that will help sustain Team USA beyond any single Games. the Director will report to the Regional Director, Philanthropic Giving–East and will be expected to operate in an entrepreneurial, build-oriented capacity.
In this role, the Director will lead a major-gift effort by identifying, cultivating, and developing new donor prospects while also managing an early-stage portfolio that may include some inherited relationships. The responsibilities include opening doors independently, advancing prospects from initial introduction through solicitation, and closing gifts in order to generate momentum in a region with significant growth potential. the role focuses on prospects capable of making major gifts, including higher-value donations.
the ideal candidate will have 8+ years of successful fundraising experience in a nonprofit environment, along with demonstrated effectiveness cultivating, soliciting, and closing $250,000+ gifts and meeting significant revenue goals. the candidate should be able to earn the confidence of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and should have the ability to independently drive prospecting, relationship-building, and closing to meet performance expectations.
