the client is a specialized automotive restoration and restomod company focused on high-end classic Ford trucks and SUVs, blending vintage character with modern drivability, updated engineering, refined craftsmanship, and contemporary powertrain solutions. As a family-owned business entering an expansion phase, the company is strengthening its operational structure to improve production flow, increase accountability, and deliver consistent, high-quality builds in a workshop environment.
the client is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to lead day-to-day shop operations and provide operational and technical leadership to the technical team. This is not a sales or business development position; the role is expected to work closely with ownership to improve workflow, project planning, technical standards, employee development, quality control, and on-time completion of customer vehicles, while supporting the integration of modern automotive systems into classic vehicle platforms.
The ideal candidate will have experience in high-end automotive restoration, restomod, custom fabrication, performance vehicles, specialty vehicle builds, or advanced automotive service environments, with strong knowledge of both classic Ford platforms and modern Ford engines, drivetrains, electronics, diagnostics, wiring, and integration challenges. Responsibilities include leading daily restoration, fabrication, mechanical, electrical, assembly, finishing, and quality control activities; managing and coaching a small team of technicians and craftsmen; improving scheduling, workflow, parts coordination, vendor coordination, and production accountability; overseeing complex builds; serving as a technical problem solver for modern powertrain and electronics integration; and ensuring builds meet high standards for craftsmanship, reliability, drivability, safety, and customer expectations while helping professionalize the shop as it scales.
