Description

The client is seeking a Director of Membership & Community Engagement to lead and evolve membership strategy, community engagement initiatives, and the communications and public relations efforts that support them. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will help strengthen connections with the global computing community, spanning researchers, practitioners, educators, and students. The role will shape the full membership experience, from initial engagement through long-term participation in programs and activities.

Key responsibilities include developing strategies to grow membership, improve retention, and ensure membership remains valuable and relevant to the evolving needs of the computing profession. The Director will oversee membership marketing, communications, and public relations across digital and traditional channels, and coordinate communications across major programs and services to ensure consistent messaging and visibility. Working closely with organizational leadership and headquarters departments, the Director will ensure membership initiatives, engagement strategies, and communications efforts align with broader strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of leadership experience in membership strategy, community engagement, marketing, communications, or related areas, with demonstrated success in growing and engaging communities, memberships, or customer bases. The role requires strong analytical skills and experience using data to guide strategy and improve member engagement, along with experience managing membership operations and related organizational functions, including staff and operational responsibilities.
