National Highways is looking for a Director of Legal Services (Operations & Employment) to lead the Operations Legal Division and the Employment Law Team. The successful candidate will provide expert legal advice on operational and people-related matters, ensuring the protection of our client's legal interests. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will involve managing complex strategic legal issues such as traffic management, civil litigation, autonomous vehicles, and employment disputes. The Director will also be responsible for developing a high-performing legal team and collaborating with key stakeholders to provide authoritative guidance on challenging legal and regulatory matters.As part of the Legal Services leadership team, the Director will play a crucial role in managing the directorate and overseeing the legal aspects of statutory instruments, traffic orders, and reputational risk. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with Executive Directors, government departments, and external stakeholders.
