The client seeks an experienced Director of Institutional Giving to lead stewardship of its North American institutional funding relationships and partnerships. The role will manage a full grants portfolio, oversee support for new philanthropic partnerships aligned with priority initiatives and programs, and supervise 2–3 staff. The Director will collaborate closely with program professionals, finance officers, and executive leadership, and will report to the Senior Vice President of Institutional Advancement as part of a global development team spanning North America and Israel.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining strong foundation relationships throughout the grant process and serving as the primary foundation relations contact in partnership with leadership and program staff to advance The client’s research and program priorities in North America. The Director will oversee grant writing and reporting workflows, ensuring deadlines are met and organized systems are maintained to support fundraising objectives. The role also involves pursuing and securing major grants for priority initiatives from current funders and new prospects across relevant foundation categories.
The Director will serve as a lead writer and creative editor, overseeing the preparation of high-quality letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports that clearly communicate The client’s mission, vision, programs, strategy, and impact in ways tailored to funder interests. Additional duties include partnering with the finance team to ensure grant budgets and narratives meet foundation requirements, preparing cultivation and reporting presentations for major prospects and funding partners, and coordinating educational initiatives to engage North American foundation professionals with The client’s ideas and scholarship.
