Description

the client seeks a highly experienced, strategic, and community-oriented Director of Human Resources to lead the evolution of its human resources function from primarily operational support to a more proactive, strategic model. This is a pivotal period for the organization following years of enrollment and staffing growth, with an emphasis on enhancing the employee and staff experience. The Director will work to strengthen culture and organizational excellence while ensuring HR is deeply engaged with faculty and staff.

Reporting to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer, the Director of Human Resources will be the organization’s senior-most HR leader and a trusted advisor to senior leadership. Responsibilities include shaping and executing a comprehensive human capital strategy; serving as a visible, accessible, and effective presence across campus; and transitioning HR from reactive process management to proactive strategic leadership. The role also involves partnering closely with academic and administrative leaders to strengthen management practices and professional development.

Key strategic priorities include elevating employee engagement, leadership development, compensation philosophy, and benefits strategy, along with bringing a fresh, analytical lens to compensation, benefits, and organizational design. The Director will assess and evolve the structure and roles of the HR team to support these goals, building modern, forward-looking HR systems with immediate and long-term impact. The HR function is supported by an experienced Payroll & Benefits Coordinator and an HR Operations Manager, providing a foundation for the next leader to expand HR’s visibility and strategic influence across campus.
