The client is seeking a Director of HR Shared Services to lead, scale, and optimize the organization’s HR Shared Services function, ensuring efficient delivery of end-to-end HR operations. This role oversees service delivery across payroll, HR systems, employee lifecycle processes, compliance, and data governance, while driving continuous improvement, digital enablement, and a best-in-class employee experience. The Director will partner closely with the wider HR organization, as well as Finance, IT, and business leaders, to align HR operations with organizational strategy and build a scalable, modern HR services infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include leading HR Shared Services for a large and diverse workforce and managing a team responsible for payroll operations. The role will govern HR compliance and policies, strengthen internal controls, support audit readiness, and harmonize policies. It also involves owning the HR technology agenda, particularly optimizing and structuring HR systems workflows and governance to enable reliable data management and consistent, system-driven controls. In addition, the Director will take responsibility for manpower planning and budgeting processes, supporting forecasting, modeling, and leadership decision-making through actionable insights.
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR Shared Services/HR Operations leader operating at the Director level within complex organizations. They should bring deep expertise in payroll operations, HR compliance, HR policy governance, and HR systems, and be systems-centric with strong stakeholder management skills. The role is suited to someone who can raise operational and governance standards across HR by navigating frameworks and ways of working that improve scalability and consistency for sizeable and diverse employee populations.
