the client is a fully remote, global nonprofit team working to end the abuse of animals raised for food. The role supports a high-impact mission to dismantle factory farming and drive lasting change for farmed animals worldwide through strategic philanthropic investment, continuous improvement, and accountability.
As Director of Global Philanthropy, you will lead the strategy and performance of a major gifts program focused on global revenue growth, building deep donor relationships, and driving measurable impact. You will work as both a thought partner to senior leadership and a frontline fundraiser, personally cultivating and soliciting high-value donors and advising leadership on philanthropic trends and strategic opportunities.
You will own major gifts strategy for a program currently raising $6M+ annually, with responsibilities for growth, retention, donor engagement, and stewardship. This includes managing and mentoring a team of three Philanthropy Officers, partnering with program staff on engagement plans and impact materials, and overseeing a personal portfolio of high-value donors and prospects. You will collaborate with Development Operations and IT to optimize CRM usage, develop dashboards and KPIs, ensure compliance and ethical fundraising practices with relevant partners, and support donor briefings, events, travel, and cultivation opportunities as needed; qualifications include 9+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience with 5+ years in major gifts, demonstrated success leading major donor portfolios and stewarding philanthropic partners, 3+ years of direct staff management, and strong data-informed planning skills.
