The Director of Finance will report to the Interim Vice President of Finance and will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the University. This role involves managing a team and ensuring that robust internal controls are in place to maintain the fiscal systems of the University. The director will work closely with department chairs and managers to provide them with timely and accurate financial information, as well as assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and cash flow management.Key responsibilities include overseeing financial accounting, student accounts, payroll, budgeting, investments, and purchasing. The director will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with loan covenants, maintaining internal controls and policies, and serving as the primary contact for external auditors. Additionally, the director will be involved in preparing financial reports, forecasting business activity, managing university-owned rental properties, negotiating equipment lease contracts, participating in university committees, and other duties as assigned. This position requires strong management skills and a thorough understanding of financial operations.
