The ideal candidate should have experience as a Controller or senior finance leader in a complex organization, working cross-functionally with teams like HR, Legal, and IT. They should be skilled in managing reporting cycles, internal controls, and accounting operations, with a hands-on leadership style that supports team performance and growth. The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator, able to present financial information clearly to various audiences. Ideally, they should have a professional background that includes private sector and Big 4 experience, along with a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, and an MBA is considered an asset.
