Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance & IT provides financial stewardship for a £15m organisation, ensuring the resources, insight, and infrastructure needed to deliver strategic ambitions are in place.
As a key member of the Executive Team, the postholder will shape organisational strategy, advise the Board and Trustees, and enable informed decision-making through high-quality financial planning, analysis, and risk management. The role also extends beyond traditional finance leadership by leading the continued development of The client’s technology and digital capabilities, supporting patient care, fundraising performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Director will drive modernisation across finance and IT, identify opportunities for innovation, and help ensure the organisation can respond effectively to a complex and challenging operating environment.
Leading a multidisciplinary Finance and IT team, the Director of Finance & IT is responsible for financial strategy, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and cash management, statutory reporting, audit, risk, procurement, governance, and technology. The role will build strong relationships across the organisation, working with clinical and non-clinical leaders to improve commercial awareness, strengthen performance management, and support delivery of strategic objectives. The client is seeking a proven finance leader who has operated as the number one finance professional and can influence at Board and Executive level, holding a recognised professional accounting qualification, with experience relevant to digital transformation and financial sustainability initiatives.
