The client seeks a Director-level Treasurer responsible for effective oversight of the organization’s finances and advising the Board on financial matters. The role includes budgeting, monitoring monthly financial performance, overseeing cash flow, managing funder reporting requirements, and preparing management accounts. The Director will be appointed to the Finance and Compliance Subgroup and will advise on compliance-related issues, including oversight of compliance and risk management in line with typical Board responsibilities.
Key responsibilities also include ensuring adherence to relevant statutory and regulatory requirements; reviewing financial policies and procedures; and overseeing the review of the Annual Audited Accounts for discussion and approval by the Board and for filing annual returns with the Companies Office. As a member of the Finance and Compliance subgroup, the Director will be accountable to the Board of Management for discharging obligations related to accounts. The role will also support strategic direction by contributing insight and oversight to strategy formulation.
The candidate is expected to hold a relevant finance qualification and has experience in senior management, ideally as an accountant, auditor, or Finance CEO/Director in the private, non-profit, or public sector. Experience with the Charity SORP is required, along with strong business acumen and the ability to understand complex corporate governance issues and assess risk quickly. This is a voluntary role, and the position requires the time necessary to perform effectively, likely at least 2 hours per week, including regular meetings with the CEO and participation in Board-related reporting and duties.
