Description

The client is seeking a Director of Facilities Management to provide strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for campus facilities operations across multiple locations totaling approximately 450,000 square feet. The role supports comprehensive management of custodial services, grounds maintenance, mail services, fleet operations, maintenance services, preventative maintenance, special projects, and other duties as assigned. Working closely with the Executive Director Facilities Planning Construction and Facilities Operations, the Director will develop and implement long-range facilities plans aligned with institutional priorities while ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting a culture of safety, customer service, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

The Director will serve as a primary facilities liaison to senior leadership, campus departments, public agencies, and external vendors. Core responsibilities include advising senior leadership on facilities planning, infrastructure needs, risk management, and capital priorities; preparing reports, recommendations, and updates for executive leadership; and participating in college and community committees and boards as appropriate. The role also includes developing short- and long-range facilities plans, creating a five-year deferred maintenance plan, and annually evaluating maintenance plans for equipment and buildings.

Operationally, the Director will oversee maintenance, custodial services, grounds, snow and ice removal, mail services, fleet management, and event support. The position will administer an asset management and work order system, including reporting, analytics, preventive maintenance scheduling, and performance monitoring. Additional duties include managing transportation shuttles to support safe, efficient travel between the campuses, reviewing related contract and operational information such as inspection logs and ridership data, and overseeing campus fleet programs to ensure safety compliance and operational efficiency.
