Description

The client is seeking an Engineering Director to join its team in Salt Lake City, Utah on a direct-hire basis under a hybrid model with both onsite and remote work. In this role, you will provide functional authority over engineering design and commissioning activities, including operation, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of projects and related process work.

You will lead and oversee engineering projects to support timely and efficient design and commissioning outcomes. Responsibilities include managing a team of project managers, engineers, commissioning agents, and technicians; delegating tasks based on expertise and project needs; reviewing and approving engineering designs, specifications, and commissioning standards for accuracy and compliance; and coordinating with clients and vendors to sustain relationships and support new business opportunities. You will also develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client and company objectives.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or an acceptable alternative such as Engineering Technology or Construction Management). You are expected to have at least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, or at least 15 years of project management experience within the industry, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. A Professional Engineering License is preferred. The role also requires strong presentation and communication skills for marketing and business development, the ability to multitask across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to coordinate travel to job sites (approximately up to 30%), including the physical ability to perform site visits such as walking and climbing stairs.
