The client is seeking a Director of Engagement to lead its external engagement approach and strengthen its global positioning. The role will support visibility, influence, supporter engagement, and sustainable income in line with the organization’s mission. It brings together institutional fundraising, business development, communications, brand integrity, advocacy, and evidence-based positioning to ensure external engagement aligns with organisational strategy, programmes, research, and thematic work.
The Director of Engagement will provide strategic leadership to drive delivery of the organization’s overall strategy, ensuring plans, resources, and priorities are aligned to agreed objectives. Key responsibilities include developing and delivering an engagement strategy that supports long-term sustainability and leading cross-functional direction across institutional fundraising, business development, communications, brand, marketing, and advocacy. The role will also shape a clear and coherent external narrative grounded in programme quality, research, evidence-based methodologies, and the perspectives of partners and children affected by conflict.
The Director of Engagement will oversee institutional funding and donor engagement strategies, including market development, pipeline oversight, proposal direction, and donor relationship management in coordination with relevant internal teams and partners. The position will lead global communications, campaigns, and marketing approaches supporting public engagement and advocacy, build and develop a high-performing engagement function, and represent the organization externally with donors, networks, agencies, and strategic stakeholders. It will also include portfolio management to ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of engagement systems, processes, and partnerships through external engagement channels.
