The client is seeking a Director of Early Childhood Education to provide strategic and operational leadership for its licensed early childhood program serving 4–5 year old children through two Pre-K classrooms in North Carolina. Reporting to the Executive Director, this educational leader ensures the delivery of high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that prepare children for lifelong learning and success. The role supports the program’s mission through collaborative culture-building among children, families, and staff.
The Director oversees program administration, including curriculum implementation, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, family engagement, budgeting, and continuous quality improvement. Responsibilities include providing visionary leadership aligned with the organization’s mission, strategic priorities, and state Pre-K expectations, developing annual program goals, monitoring outcomes, and fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The role also serves as an educational leader and representative in early childhood initiatives and community partnerships.
The position requires leading curriculum and instruction aligned with state Pre-K requirements, overseeing lesson planning, observations, instructional coaching, and assessment practices, and supporting differentiated instruction based on children’s developmental needs. The Director will recruit, supervise, coach, and evaluate teaching staff, develop professional growth plans, coordinate required professional development, and promote reflective practice across the team. Additional responsibilities include strengthening family and community partnerships, establishing effective systems for communication with families, and ensuring compliance with licensing, health and safety, and accreditation-related requirements through accurate documentation, student records, and regulatory reporting.
