The client is seeking a Director of Development to join their team in Coastal Georgia. This individual will be responsible for leading the development and fundraising strategy for the organization, with a focus on cultivating individual, foundation, and corporate donors. The Director of Development will work closely with the CEO during a time of transition, as the current CEO is retiring after many years of service. As a member of the Feeding America network, the client is a leading hunger-relief organization serving 21 counties in the region. They provide millions of pounds of food each year to local charitable agencies and programs, working to eliminate food insecurity through innovative initiatives like Kids Cafe, Mobile Food Pantry, and Senior Meals. The Director of Development will play a key role in developing and executing an annual fundraising plan, overseeing donor development and stewardship, and managing fundraising campaigns and events. This individual will also serve as a liaison to the Board Development Committee and represent the organization in the community.
The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 3 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a strong track record of cultivating and soliciting major gifts. Supervisory experience is preferred, as the Director of Development will be responsible for leading a growing development team. Excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for ending hunger are essential for success in this role.
