The client is seeking a Director of Development to build its philanthropic program from the ground up. This leadership role will establish the strategy, systems, and relationships that define the organization’s philanthropic identity and support mission impact and growth, particularly by strengthening the infrastructure and philanthropic capacity needed to expand the reach of its programs.
The Director of Development will partner directly with the client’s CEO and Chief of Staff to architect a development function that complements and amplifies an organization that is primarily government-funded. The role is expected to operate with an entrepreneurial mindset, leveraging existing organizational commitment and resources to build a meaningful philanthropic engine, and will provide visibility across the organization.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary spokesperson for philanthropic engagement, diversifying revenue sources, stewarding existing donors, and introducing the organization’s story to new audiences. The ideal candidate will have the ability to develop and implement development strategy, build and manage relationships, and represent the client with professionalism and mission alignment in collaboration with board leadership and across key stakeholders.
