The client is seeking a Director of Development Operations to lead fundraising operations and help drive organizational development performance. The role will typically suit an experienced professional with a strong track record in development operations, along with excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to motivate others through a flexible, self-driven, problem-solving approach.
Key responsibilities include establishing best practices for development operations; overseeing a moves management process and monitoring fundraiser progress and outcomes; partnering with the communications team to develop fundraising appeals and produce visually engaging letters, reports, and other fundraising materials; and ensuring effective donor cultivation and stewardship so prospects and existing annual donors receive frequent, meaningful information and opportunities to stay engaged and increase participation.
The director will also develop annual fund strategies, timelines, and performance metrics aimed at increasing support, and manage a team that includes a Development Assistant and an Events Manager. Qualifications include 5–10 years of professional fundraising operations experience, computer fluency across office tools, donor database software, and web applications, and knowledge of how technology and electronic communication support fundraising, with a bachelor’s degree required.
