The client is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts supporting Jewish education. The role focuses on cultivating and securing philanthropic support from individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners, with an emphasis on demonstrated success in gift solicitation.
Key responsibilities include achieving capital and annual campaign fundraising goals, developing solicitation strategies, conducting prospect research, managing prospect meetings, and ensuring timely follow-up. The position also involves identifying opportunities such as commemorative giving and naming opportunities, expanding the donor base, strengthening community connections, and preparing for meetings and planning local and regional events, including both small and large gatherings.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of fundraising experience and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as a self-starter. The role requires strong organization and detail orientation, along with excellent written and presentation skills, and the capacity to create and staff a Major Gifts Committee to engage lay leaders and leverage their support.
