The client is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts for a non-profit serving the developmentally disabled within the Jewish community. The role will work with senior management to advance fundraising goals, strategies, and day-to-day operations as the organization grows across multiple centers, with ongoing expansion activities including a new farm-based development intended to support additional therapy and residential capacity.
The Director of Development will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening existing donor relationships while also building new partnerships, with a focus on cultivating major gifts and sustaining long-term donor commitment. The role will develop, execute, and oversee comprehensive fundraising programs and fundraising strategic plans, coordinating initiatives to meet established fundraising goals. The position also supports relationship-building with community stakeholders and represents the client at relevant community events.
Key qualifications include at least 5–10 years of development and fundraising experience, with demonstrated success raising funds (including major gifts) and executing fundraising strategy and programs. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to plan strategically and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Familiarity with the Orthodox, Jewish community is strongly preferred, and local philanthropic knowledge in the Lakewood area is a plus; the Director of Development will also collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team on messaging, materials, and community engagement strategies.
