The client is seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising efforts for Kidznotes, an organization that provides free orchestral training to children in under-resourced communities. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit development, with a focus on individual giving, grant writing, and donor communications. Responsibilities include implementing a fundraising strategy, managing major donors, overseeing grant writing efforts, and executing special events. The Director of Development will also be responsible for fostering a culture of philanthropy among staff and board members.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Development will play a key role in growing revenue from individuals, foundations, corporations, government, and events. They will work closely with the board to engage and steward philanthropic supporters, as well as oversee fundraising communications and campaigns. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and experience with donor databases and fundraising analytics. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate donor records and reporting using Kidznotes CRM, DonorPerfect.
