The client is seeking a Director of Data Center Development (Structural Cabling) to help drive national growth for mission-critical data center infrastructure services. This high-visibility role focuses on building opportunities ahead of the open market by developing credibility with key decision-makers and converting relationships into significant, multi-phase project pursuits.
Key responsibilities include personally opening new data center accounts from first contact through qualified pursuit, mapping and prioritizing the national mission-critical market, and creating entry points with owners, developers, operators, contractors, and design partners. The role supports engagement during planning, design, preconstruction, and specification so solutions can be influenced before formal bidding begins, while building executive relationships that can generate repeatable, high-value opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record winning new business in data centers or mission-critical infrastructure, with examples of accounts and projects they personally originated. They should bring established, usable relationships across the data center ecosystem and the ability to identify and shape complex opportunities early, along with strong executive communication and negotiation skills. National selling capability and willingness to travel approximately 30 to 50% for customer meetings, conferences, and relationship development are expected, supported by disciplined prospecting, account planning, CRM management, and forecasting in a greenfield growth environment; relevant experience with structured cabling and adjacent infrastructure solutions is helpful.
