The client seeks a dynamic Director of Corporate Campaigns to lead national corporate campaign work in a fully remote capacity. The role supports the client’s advocacy goals by combining strategic planning and execution with experience in corporate finance and capital markets, as well as familiarity with boycott, divestment, and other corporate tactics. The Director will report to the Chief Advocacy Officer and collaborate closely to develop and execute corporate campaign strategies that mobilize directly impacted individuals and allies and engage key stakeholders and decision-makers.
Key responsibilities include co-developing and executing corporate campaign strategy with senior leadership, building and facilitating broad coalitions, and deepening relationships with partner organizations addressing criminal and economic injustice. The Director will advocate to decision-makers such as board members, executives, investors, regulators, and others to persuade action, and will develop base-building strategies that elevate community voices and leadership. The role also includes serving as a spokesperson through interviews, hearings, rallies, conferences, and op-eds, coordinating with education and communications teams, tracking and assessing campaign progress and needs, and managing internal and external resources.
For qualifications, the client expects a strategic, motivated self-starter who can deliver high-quality work and operate effectively across varied environments. The role typically requires at least five years of experience developing, running, and winning corporate campaigns, including strategic planning, large coalition leadership, direct actions, and digital advocacy. A baseline understanding of corporate finance and capital markets is needed, such as corporate credit ratings, debt structures, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy and restructurings, and passive and active investments, with encouragement for candidates with early-career financial services experience. Strong oral and written communication skills, including experience drafting materials for different audiences, are essential.
