The client is seeking a Director of Construction Operations to help guide growth and strengthen project delivery across a portfolio of local commercial construction projects. This is a visible leadership role with influence over operational direction, team development, and execution practices. The director will work closely with executive leadership while supporting multiple active projects and contributing to how teams perform across the business.
Key responsibilities include guiding execution to align schedules, quality, safety, and profitability; leading project managers, superintendents, and field personnel with a focus on accountability, communication, and consistent performance; and improving internal operating rhythms, reporting practices, and coordination processes. The director will monitor project health across active work, including cost performance, staffing needs, subcontractor progress, and operational risk, and will help reinforce a culture of responsiveness, follow-through, professionalism, and sound decision-making.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial construction leadership experience overseeing multiple projects and teams, including within a general contracting environment. They should have a solid understanding of ground-up commercial construction and the day-to-day realities of delivering complex builds, with demonstrated success improving team performance and accountability. The role also requires strong financial awareness, excellent communication and organization, and the ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving setting where adaptability and ownership are valued, including coaching and developing junior talent.
