The Director of Collections and Research will oversee a team of 200 colleagues in collections, research, exhibitions, and conservation, reporting to the Chief Executive and working as part of the Senior Leadership Team. They will provide leadership to ensure the care, accessibility, and interpretation of the national collections, as well as shape and deliver an ambitious exhibitions strategy. The Director will champion research excellence and act as an ambassador for the organization across Wales and internationally.This role requires intellectual, strategic, and compassionate leadership to drive the transformation of the organization. The Director will be responsible for ensuring the collections are well-maintained and accessible to the public, as well as leading efforts to interpret and showcase them through exhibitions. They will also be tasked with promoting research excellence and representing the organization in various capacities both locally and globally.
