The client is seeking a Director of COG Programs to serve on the senior leadership team and help set and advance the organization’s agenda. This role will drive and expand programmatic work, strengthen existing services such as shared operational initiatives and grants management, and develop new shared services and community impact initiatives across the client’s programs. The director will also partner closely with the Executive Director to grow ALIGN, a regional community and economic development coalition, and will be expected to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic nonprofit environment.
Key responsibilities include partnering with senior leadership to develop and strengthen programs across the client’s shared services and housing-related activities, which may include finance and budgeting, community planning, economic development, and housing analysis and planning. The director will lead and facilitate regular convenings of municipal professionals, coordinate recurring meetings and supportive programming for law enforcement leadership, and collaborate with relevant regional leadership to extend programming across a broad municipal footprint. The director will represent the organization in meetings, committees, and events, track emerging best practices, and translate insights into member-driven programming.
Additional duties cover helping steward and co-building a regional coalition to coordinate partners and resources for community strengthening and sustainable economic growth, including leading regular coalition partner meetings. The director will support comprehensive planning efforts as a liaison during relevant planning initiatives, act as a resource for member municipalities to access tools and programs that support local business and community development, and participate in regional coalitions aligned with client priorities. The director will collaborate with leadership to enhance member and partner engagement, attend community meetings to identify partnership opportunities, and assist in advocacy and efforts to pursue funding that supports intergovernmental cooperation, coalition priorities, and land bank and other program activities, while supporting administrative and operational coordination.
