the client is seeking a National Director of Campaign Communications and Digital Strategy to lead a centralized communications and digital strategy function. The role designs and executes a unified, digital-first communications strategy that supports issue advocacy campaigns across the client’s national and state-based work. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Campaigns and Public Affairs, the director serves as a strategic lead aligning integrated communications and digital efforts with campaign goals, political realities, legislative opportunities, and educator engagement pathways.
As part of the program leadership team, the National Director will help shape how the client leverages communications, storytelling, audience engagement, and digital infrastructure to drive coordinated campaigns, elevate educator voice, strengthen the client’s brand and member value proposition, and deepen pathways toward advocacy and leadership. The director will ensure earned, owned, paid, and digital media strategies work together to build public support, influence decision-makers, engage educators, and improve campaign outcomes.
Key responsibilities include leading the development and execution of integrated communications and digital strategies for issue advocacy campaigns; translating campaign priorities into narratives, messaging, and audience strategies that engage educators, policymakers, coalition partners, media, and the public; and applying strong political instincts and issue experience to adapt campaign messaging strategies. The director will also guide campaign communications staff and support coordination across geographies to help achieve campaign objectives.
