the client is seeking a Director of Business Development to accelerate national revenue expansion across telecom and infrastructure equipment markets. This is a relationship-driven role for a sales leader who can navigate complex, long-cycle opportunities while helping shape business strategy, open new verticals, and build meaningful market presence with direct visibility and ownership of growth efforts.
Responsibilities include leading new business development across carrier, enterprise, channel, and infrastructure-related accounts; building and executing a strategic sales plan to generate net new revenue and deepen long-term customer relationships; and managing the full business development cycle from prospecting and qualification through solution positioning, proposal development, negotiation, and close. The role also involves creating and maintaining a healthy pipeline through outbound outreach, referrals, and market mapping, identifying customer pain points, aligning inventory and sourcing capabilities with commercial solutions, and collaborating with leadership on expansion strategies and go-to-market priorities.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of success in telecom, IT infrastructure resale, secondary market sales, or a closely related broker-style environment, with a proven track record of revenue generation through independent, relationship-based selling. Experience selling into carriers, enterprises, and channel partners is expected, along with comfort operating through longer, strategic sales cycles and in a fast-moving, less structured environment. Strong commercial judgment, communication skills, and executive presence are required, along with practical CRM experience for disciplined pipeline management and forecasting; existing industry relationships are highly valued, and exposure to data center, power, or adjacent infrastructure categories is a plus. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and demonstrated sales performance.
