The Director of Boarding is responsible for leading and overseeing the boarding house to ensure that pastoral care standards are consistently high and that students feel at home while away from home. This role involves managing a team, maintaining communication with students and their families, and handling day-to-day operations such as employment, finance, property, health and safety, and compliance. The Director of Boarding must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the boarding house, including working evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts to meet the needs of the students and fulfill the obligations of the role.In addition to leading the boarding community, the Director of Boarding is responsible for integrating the boarding community into the larger school community and promoting the school and boarding house to the broader community. This role requires active involvement with students, managing functions and events, and reporting to the Principal and the Board of the school. The Director of Boarding may be required to work additional hours from time to time in order to fulfill the duties of the position, making this a salaried position for 52 weeks per year with ongoing responsibilities through term break periods.
