Description

The client is seeking an HR leader to serve as Director of Benefits & Employee Experience, responsible for turning benefits and employee programs into a meaningful competitive advantage for the workforce. This role will influence how employees experience the organization throughout their careers by combining hands-on program leadership with a strong service mindset. The director will lead a small team and help improve programs that support wellbeing, engagement, and retention in a dynamic, multi-location environment.

Key responsibilities include leading the administration and delivery of health, welfare, retirement, and supplemental benefit programs while ensuring required compliance processes are followed. The director will coordinate annual enrollment activities, employee communications, system updates, and issue resolution to create an efficient benefits experience. The role also includes managing relationships with benefit providers, brokers, and external partners, including escalations, renewals, budget oversight, and monitoring program performance.

The director will use workforce insights and program data to improve the effectiveness, value, and impact of benefits and wellness offerings, and will shape programs that promote employee engagement, appreciation, and access to workplace resources. Additional work includes strengthening onboarding, offboarding, and other key employee lifecycle programs to support consistent experiences across locations, partnering with managers and HR stakeholders to address employee experience challenges, and guiding and developing the team with clear goals and priorities. The role typically requires 4 to 6 years of HR experience across benefits, workforce programs, or employee engagement, including prior team leadership; solid benefits expertise and strong project management and communication skills are expected, with relevant HR or benefits credentials preferred.
