The client is seeking a Director of Asset and Facility Management to oversee County-owned real estate and the end-to-end lifecycle of government buildings and related assets. This role will report directly to the Deputy County Manager and is responsible for directing the planning, design, construction, operations, maintenance, and security of County-owned buildings, infrastructure, and real estate assets, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals and mission.
The Director will lead the Asset and Facility Management Department, providing oversight of departmental operations and coordinating responsibilities across divisions including Real Estate Management, Design and Construction Project Management, Facilities Energy and Fleet Management, Security Services, and Business Management. Key functions include managing capital projects, utility usage, maintenance contracts, and energy management, while ensuring safe, sustainable, and compliant operations across facilities and asset services.
Core responsibilities also include land acquisition and property management activities, coordinating rights of entry, use and license agreements, construction easements, and leases, as well as directing design and construction of new and renovated facilities and related capital reserve work. The role will support effective project delivery by coordinating consultants such as architects and engineers and by working with construction delivery partners as needed to maintain high-quality standards and service continuity.
