The client seeks a Director of Alumni Relations to provide strategic leadership for alumni engagement efforts and help shape a dynamic, inclusive program that strengthens lifelong connections. Reporting to the chief advancement officer (CAO), the director will guide the next chapter of alumni engagement in support of the institution’s mission and strategic direction, fostering meaningful relationships with alumni and parents across a global network.
The director will build, organize, and support the Alumni Council and class agents, strengthening connections and expanding engagement opportunities. The role will also oversee collaboration with advancement colleagues on the reunion giving program and help orchestrate successful engagement events, including Alumni Weekend and other regional programming, with an emphasis on participation in philanthropic and community initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic and creative thinker with strong persuasive communication skills and a collaborative approach. With at least five years of experience, the director will be able to design and implement impactful engagement strategies, demonstrate a strong appreciation for the organization’s history and aspirations, and effectively lead, coach, and supervise the assistant director of alumni and donor relations to foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and teamwork.
