We are seeking an exceptional Director of Adults Commissioning and Provider Services to lead change at scale with strategic clarity and professional credibility. The role guides the commissioning of high-quality, value-for-money services that enable adults to live well, independently, and with dignity. You will oversee the full commissioning cycle—from understanding local needs and shaping the market to ensuring services are safe, sustainable, and aligned with residents’ aspirations.
You will manage in-house provider services, ensuring high standards and ongoing evolution in line with national expectations and local priorities. Working at the heart of a collaborative directorate management team, you will help drive an adults’ transformation programme, turning strategic intent into lived impact for the workforce, partners, and communities. You will build strong partnerships across the organization, health partners, integrated care, and voluntary, community, and faith sectors, influencing system-wide integrated approaches that improve outcomes and strengthen the local care market.
This position requires the ability to thrive in complexity while providing a calm, strategic perspective in a fast-moving environment. You will champion continuous improvement using data, insight, and lived experience to inform decisions, support person-centred commissioning intentions, and provide evidence-based advice to senior stakeholders and elected members to help maintain financial sustainability.
