Description

The client is seeking a Director of Accounting and Reporting to serve as the successor to the Chief Accounting Officer, in a global role with high visibility and growth potential. The position will support the leadership and enhanced improvement efforts associated with the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements for period closings, and will manage external financial reporting activities for the group, including related SEC filings and US GAAP technical accounting guidance.

Key responsibilities include leading preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC reports and related disclosures, coordinating with internal stakeholders and a disclosure committee to gather inputs and manage drafts and comments, and completing disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires. The role will also oversee monthly accounting close activities, financial consolidation and reporting, support general ledger and “record to report” processes, and advise executive leadership on technical accounting matters.

The Director of Accounting and Reporting will lead compliance efforts aligned with US GAAP and SOX internal controls, oversee coordination of quarterly reviews and audits with external auditors, and monitor emerging accounting and reporting rules from relevant standard-setting and regulatory bodies for applicability and impact. The role typically requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, with an MBA and CPA (Certified Public Accountant) as strong preferences/requirements, plus extensive professional experience with demonstrated progression in accounting, SEC reporting experience in a manufacturing environment, and strong technical accounting research and documentation skills.
