The client is seeking a collaborative, execution-focused Director, New Program Initiatives to lead the development, coordination, and delivery of new academic programs with a focus on regulator-ready and launch-ready outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Academic Initiatives, the role provides operational leadership that translates institutional strategy and portfolio priorities into high-quality program proposals and offerings. The Director is accountable for coordinating cross-functional contributors, ensuring academic regulatory quality, and supporting institutional readiness for approvals and launches.
Operating at the initiative and proposal delivery level, the Director works closely with academic and operational stakeholders, including academic leaders and program leads, as well as teams supporting learning design and regulatory and compliance processes. This role drives end-to-end execution of approved program initiatives, moving new programs from concept through formal submission within established governance, quality assurance, and decision-making frameworks. The Director also partners to ensure curriculum and program development efforts are consistently delivered efficiently and at an expected standard of quality.
Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end new program development execution to meet timelines and institutional priorities; coordinating cross-functional collaboration among academic, regulatory, operational, and market stakeholders; and developing and maintaining program development guidelines, frameworks, and standards for consistency and alignment. The Director supports student-centred, flexible curriculum models, ensures proposals meet academic quality, pedagogical best practices, and applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements, manages governance and approval processes (including documentation and revisions based on regulatory feedback), and supports accreditation and professional regulatory activities. Additionally, the Director coordinates program costing, enrolment forecasting, and operational readiness to support sustainable program launch and may incorporate labour market intelligence to inform program development.
