The client is recruiting for an experienced Director, Marketing and Communications to lead strategic internal and external messaging, brand identity, marketing, and the organization’s public persona. This role shapes communications across traditional media and advanced digital, omnichannel engagement, and is focused on fostering a strong positive image and building awareness for the organization and the construction industry. The Director is expected to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate marketing and communications strategies and activities in collaboration with executive and departmental leadership.
The Director will develop multi-year marketing and communications plans aligned with business priorities, create functional strategies and objectives, and oversee marketing and communications budgets, policies, and procedures that support programs and services. Responsibilities include brand management—maintaining brand integrity, tone of voice, and aesthetic vision across platforms—along with coordinating marketing and communications activities at both strategic and tactical levels. The role also oversees publications, media relations, and other organizational communications to enhance visibility and reputation.
Key duties include leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary marketing and communications team involved in graphic design, print production, content development, digital marketing, advocacy, government relations, media monitoring, and special projects. The Director is expected to lead digital and content strategy, including SEO/SEM, social media, and email marketing, and to oversee the creation of engaging content such as written materials and multimedia (e.g., video and podcasts). The role serves as a primary contact for press inquiries, manages public relations and crisis communications, supports government relations efforts with materials such as proposals and funding requests, participates in relevant committees and working groups, uses analytics to measure KPIs and ROI, and oversees annual marketing and communications budget management.
