As Director of Digital and Systems, you will play a senior role in shaping the technology foundations of a new public service organization. You will define digital strategy, systems architecture, data capability, and core platforms to support effective operations over the long term, with no legacy systems to maintain. This position reports to the Corporate Director for Delivery and Digital and focuses on establishing the technology, governance, and infrastructure needed to deliver services for communities from the outset.
In this role, you will set strategic direction for digital, systems, and data; design and deliver enterprise architecture and core platforms; and lead major systems implementation, integration, and data migration programs. You will oversee the digital aspects of organizational transitions as services transfer into the authority, and you will build high-performing teams, establish supplier partnerships, and develop governance frameworks. You will champion innovation, user-centered design, accessibility, and secure-by-design principles, and provide trusted guidance to senior leaders on digital and technology matters.
The ideal candidate is an experienced digital leader with a proven track record of delivering transformation in complex organizations. You will typically have experience building or reshaping digital and systems capability, expertise across enterprise systems and data and integration technologies, and experience leading large-scale implementations, data migrations, and service transitions. Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills are essential, along with knowledge of public-sector standards relating to governance, cyber security, accessibility, and compliance. Flexible hybrid working is expected, with a minimum of two days in the office each week.
