In this role, you will use deep industry knowledge, market relationships, and project development experience to identify where capacity may emerge, where constraints could slow progress, and which projects or regions may shift market dynamics before those signals become widely recognized. You will translate technical and commercial analysis into actionable market intelligence that informs high-value investment decisions.
You will lead intelligence gathering across the data center development landscape, emphasizing power access, transmission limitations, permitting risk, construction readiness, and commissioning timelines. You will evaluate proposed and active projects across North America to determine which opportunities are most likely to advance, encounter delays, or face execution challenges. You will build a forward-looking view of regional growth by analyzing utility capacity, interconnection processes, substation availability, large load approvals, and broader grid conditions, while monitoring permitting, land use, environmental review, and local approval dynamics that may affect project timing and market attractiveness.
You will track supply chain and construction factors such as labor availability, contractor capacity, energization schedules, and lead times for critical electrical and mechanical equipment. You will also develop and maintain trusted relationships with utilities, developers, EPC firms, consultants, equipment suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders, and represent the client in industry settings to strengthen visibility and deepen proprietary insights. The role typically requires 12 or more years of experience across data center development and power infrastructure, including hands-on guidance of projects through phases such as site selection, utility coordination, permitting, construction execution, and commissioning, along with strong ability to synthesize technical, operational, and market inputs for varied audiences; advanced education may be preferred in related engineering or land use/environmental or regulatory fields.
