The client is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to lead corporate storytelling and high-visibility executive communications for a growing, publicly traded biopharmaceutical company. The role focuses on translating complex scientific and clinical information into clear messaging for diverse stakeholder groups, while shaping integrated communications strategies that align with company priorities, pipeline milestones, and brand positioning. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence Tuesday and Thursday, based in Parsippany, NJ.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing integrated corporate communications strategies, managing media relations (including drafting press releases and supporting proactive outreach), and monitoring media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate reputational risks. The director will also design and implement internal communications to support culture, organizational alignment, and change management, and will prepare communications strategies and materials to address crisis and issues management. Additional scope includes coordinating communications around clinical milestones, regulatory updates, corporate announcements, and scientific presentations.
The director will partner cross-functionally with Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, HR, Commercial, and Executive teams to ensure compliant and aligned messaging, and will support executive leadership by developing presentations, speeches, and leadership messaging to enhance corporate reputation and visibility. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a master’s degree preferred, and typically 5–8+ years of corporate communications experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a related environment. The role requires strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, proven ability to translate complex scientific and clinical data, experience working in regulated healthcare/pharmaceutical settings, proficiency with Microsoft Office and communications/digital channels, and the ability to create structured PowerPoint presentations; domestic travel up to 10% may be required.
