the client seeks a dynamic national leader with strong credentials in clinical and translational research to direct a newly established Cardiometabolic Research Center focused on advancing understanding, treatment, and prevention of cardiometabolic diseases. The center will operate under a broader translational initiative in cardiovascular science and will be supported by academic and healthcare enterprise resources to enable a broad-based program of clinical, translational, and population research.
Reporting to institutional and enterprise leadership, the Director will build on the enterprise’s expanded scale and pursue opportunities enabled by advances in science and technology to generate and apply new knowledge to cardiovascular and metabolic care and prevention. Key research priorities will include approaches for deep phenotyping using advanced omics, non-invasive imaging, remote/mobile technologies, patient engagement tools, and advanced analytics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and systems biology, with an emphasis on identifying and better characterizing individuals with or at risk for cardiovascular and metabolic conditions, including strategies to address disparities in cardiometabolic health.
The role is expected to be physician-scientist led, with a current rank of Associate or Full Professor (or equivalent) and national or international academic stature. The Director will be selected based on demonstrated extramural funding strength, proven leadership and management capabilities to design, build, and run a large clinical and translational research program, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting a culture that respects and advances diversity, equity, and inclusion.
