the client is seeking outstanding faculty candidates with board certification and expertise in Sleep Medicine to join a rapidly expanding clinical and academic program within a division focused on pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. The role involves working in practice settings that include a network of hospitals and outpatient clinics around the Los Angeles area. The director-level position will support a diverse academic environment with faculty expertise spanning sleep medicine, critical care, advanced lung disease, lung transplantation, and interventional pulmonology.
the client’s Director of the Sleep Medicine Program will be responsible for growing and expanding clinical services within a flagship medical center and for developing additional areas of practice. The position includes direct patient care, interpretation of polysomnography studies from sleep laboratories, and oversight of a home sleep testing program. The director will have direct oversight of the sleep disorders center and will play a significant role in the sleep fellowship.
The Director will also support education and training for medical students, residents, sleep fellows, and division trainees, including attending and proctoring in outpatient sleep clinics and participation in the division’s academic activities. Collaboration with otolaryngology, neurology, psychiatry, and dentistry is expected, with opportunities to contribute to emerging sleep research areas. Required qualifications include an MD or equivalent degree, residency training in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Neurology, board certification in Sleep Medicine, and the ability to obtain full, unrestricted licensure to practice medicine in California; academic accomplishments are expected at the Associate Professor or Professor level, and the individual should demonstrate a collaborative, innovative, and compassionate approach.
