The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) is seeking a new School Director to lead efforts in expanding educational opportunities, enhancing faculty expertise, and updating curriculum programming to meet workforce development needs. The Director will be responsible for providing vision, strategic direction, and operational oversight, while fostering excellence in teaching, research, and service within a positive and collaborative environment. Additionally, the Director will represent the SCCJ within the college, university, and community, advocating for its needs and building partnerships to advance its mission and goals.The SCCJ Director will oversee undergraduate degree programs on both the Omaha and Lincoln campuses of the University of Nebraska system, as well as nationally ranked graduate degrees and certificates on the Omaha campus. The Director will also be responsible for overseeing two research units, the Nebraska Center for Justice Research and the Juvenile Justice Institute, within the SCCJ. As a key member of the deans executive team, the Director will work to advance the goals of the College of Public Affairs and Community Service, which houses several academic units and research centers. The SCCJ is located in the heart of Nebraskas largest metropolitan area, with over 1,000,000 residents, providing a unique opportunity for impactful community engagement and collaboration.
