Description

the client is seeking a lead to drive strategic equities and derivatives initiatives focused on electronic and low-touch trading. the role will oversee complex market structure and trading programmes across equities and listed derivatives, managing the full project lifecycle from ideation and business case development through implementation and post-launch optimisation. you will partner with trading desks and relevant stakeholders to enhance execution capabilities, improve liquidity access, and strengthen competitiveness.

you will design and implement automation strategies to increase low-touch flow, algorithmic execution, and straight-through processing, while evaluating technologies that may improve execution quality, latency, and cost efficiency. working closely with quantitative and technology teams, you will contribute to enhancements in algorithms and smart order routing, and lead cross-functional transformation across front office, risk, operations, compliance, and technology to support business expansion and monetisation opportunities such as new markets, products, and client segments.

the role also requires leading regulatory and market change management, ensuring timely implementation of requirements affecting trading, reporting, and risk processes in equities and derivatives. you will establish programme governance and stakeholder management practices, lead steering committees and senior engagement, prepare executive materials, and track milestones, risks, and dependencies. responsibilities include optimising trading infrastructure and platforms (such as order and execution management and post-trade systems), modernising architecture to improve scalability and reduce risk, supporting controls and audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement aligned to long-term strategic growth; relevant qualifications include deep equities and/or listed derivatives market expertise, demonstrated delivery of large-scale front-to-back transformation programmes, strong project management capability, and the ability to influence senior leaders while translating business needs into technology solutions.
