Description

The client is seeking a Director of Data Center Site Operations (Campus Lead) to lead end-to-end operations for a large-scale, multi-building data center campus. This senior leadership role is responsible for site-wide performance, uptime, operational strategy, and the overall reliability of critical infrastructure, while partnering across engineering, facilities, and operations teams to achieve operational objectives.

Key responsibilities include ensuring world-class reliability and targeting extremely high uptime, leading a site leadership team that spans operations, critical facilities, and engineering, and driving incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement programs. The role owns site-level operating metrics, service level agreements, and reporting; manages relationships with key vendors and utility partners; and collaborates with global operations, construction, and engineering teams on capacity expansion and upgrades. The director will also establish and enforce operational standards, safety protocols, and compliance frameworks, and provide workforce planning, hiring, and leadership development.

Required qualifications include extensive experience in data center, critical facilities, or mission-critical operations, along with proven leadership of large-scale sites or multi-site environments. The director should have deep expertise in electrical and mechanical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, switchgear, and HVAC/chilled water systems, plus a strong record of uptime and SLA ownership. Preferred qualifications may include experience in hyperscale, cloud, or large colocation environments and familiarity with operational excellence methodologies; the role also calls for strong executive communication and stakeholder management, and knowledge of regulatory, safety, and compliance standards.
